My story

Four chapters, one lesson.

01 · Off the grid

I grew up in the mountains of New Mexico, off the grid. My parents ran a prototyping shop that built parts for NASA and Department of Defense contractors. Our kitchen table was covered in drawings of things that didn't exist yet. That's where I learned that you don't wait for the right tool. You make it.

02 · Ahead of schedule

I was a straight-A student who left high school early and started college at 16. I earned a double major in psychology and strategic communication, because I wanted to understand two things: why people do what they do, and how to help them hear what matters.

03 · Twenty years of helping others grow

I spent more than twenty years in business development and fundraising, helping organizations find money, partners, and a way forward. Then, as a single mom with no savings, I quit my corporate job and started my own business in 2019. It worked. It also cost more than I expected.

04 · The rebuild

I was growing on an empty tank, and my health hit a wall. I was dealing with Graves' disease, burnout, and depression. I didn't need more strategy. I needed a body and a life that could carry the strategy I already had. So I rebuilt in order: my energy first, then how I saw myself, then my systems, then my growth. That order became the R.I.S.E. Framework, and it's the heart of what I teach today.

What I believe

Strategy is the plan. Your capacity (your energy, time, and support) is what carries it out.

01

We fix the business model, not the woman.

You’re not broken. The old way of building is.

02

Your energy and support are business tools, not a bonus.

Protecting them is part of the job.

03

The goal is ownership, not just income.

Build something that’s truly yours and keeps paying you back.

04

Building our own way isn’t the backup plan.

It’s the plan.

The work now

I build the rooms I wish I had.

Next Era is where ambitious women get the connection, coaching, and plan to grow. It starts with Next Era Nexus, a place to be found by the right people. Then the Next Era Accelerator helps you build the capacity to grow without burning out.

The name of my company, Insurgo X, comes from the Latin word for "to rise." The vision is simple: a future where no woman has to choose between building her business and taking care of herself or her family. When one woman rises, she lifts the women around her too. This is how we rise, and it’s the foundation of everything I’m building.

Credentials

  • 20+ years in business development and fundraising
  • Running my own business since 2019
  • B.A. in psychology and strategic communication
  • Certified functional nutrition counselor
  • Certified health coach
  • Certified behavior change strategist

Off the clock

When I’m not on Zoom or behind the mic, you’ll find me on a sunrise walk, reading books, taking photos, or laughing with my best friends. I’m my daughter’s biggest fan and my husband’s biggest supporter, and they are my best friends too.

My daily non-negotiables are 30 minutes of movement and a lot of water.

01

The Business Model Is Failing Women

Healthy Entrepreneurship, defined

Women aren’t failing at business. The model treats the founder as an unlimited resource. Nika shows how to spot a capacity problem disguised as a strategy problem.

You’ll leave knowing: Why burnout is a business problem, and the one shift that fixes it.

02

How Women Build Real Power

Internal power. Economic power. Structural power.

Power isn’t confidence or charisma. It’s the capacity, options, and ownership a woman builds, taught through Nika’s Power Stack.

You’ll leave knowing: Which layer of your power is weakest, and why the order matters.

03

The Next Era of Women in Business Is Ours to Build

A visionary keynote for big stages

Access alone hasn’t closed the gaps in funding, leadership, and ownership. Nika makes the case for women building new systems together.

You’ll leave knowing: Why a seat at the table was never enough, and what to build instead.

Your next era starts with the right room.

Join Next Era Nexus so the women looking for exactly what you do can actually find you.

This is how we rise.
